Lobos Island

An unserem letzten Tag, wollten wir nochmal so viel wie möglich erleben. Wir fuhren also nach Corralejo und erwischten dort gerade noch unsere Fähre zur Insel Lobos. Dort angekommen, wanderten wir los in Richtung des Leuchtturms, der nördlichste Punkt Fuerteventuras. Landschaftlich ist es dort etwas anders als auf Fuerteventura selbst. Es gibt mehr Pflanzen. Trotz des Windes war es einfach unglaublich heiß und uns ging die Sonnencreme aus. Aber wir haben uns nicht groß verbrannt. Wir brauchten ca. 4 Stunden um die Insel zu umrunden. Aus Zeitgründen haben wir den Vulkan dann nicht mehr bestiegen. Wir wollten ja noch schnorcheln. Nach einem kleinen Eis suchten wir eine passende Stelle. Das war gar nicht so einfach, da alle Wasserbecken vom Vormittag durch die Ebbe nun leer waren. Aber wir fanden eine Stelle und konnten noch 20 Minuten schnorcheln, bevor wir mit der Fähre bei ordentlichem Wellengang zurück nach Corralejo übersetzen. Lobos ist eine wunderschöne kleine Insel.

Achja...und wir haben hier unser fünftes Walskelett gefunden.

On our last day, we wanted to experience as much as possible again. So we drove to Corralejo and just caught our ferry to Lobos Island. Once there, we hiked towards the lighthouse, the northernmost point of Fuerteventura. The landscape there is a bit different than on Fuerteventura itself. There are more plants. Despite the wind, it was just unbelievably hot and we ran out of sunscreen. But we didn't burn ourselves too badly. We needed about 4 hours to circumnavigate the island. Due to time constraints, we didn't climb the volcano anymore. We still wanted to snorkel. After a small ice cream we looked for a suitable place. That wasn't so easy, as all the water basins from the morning were now empty due to the low tide. But we found a spot and were able to snorkel for another 20 minutes before we took the ferry back to Corralejo in good waves. Lobos is a beautiful little island.
