      Seville

      We decided to have a holiday within our holiday and spent a couple of days in Seville, there are so many beautiful buildings and plazas to see. We took a tour of the Torre del Oro and the bull ring Plaza del Toros y Museo de la Real Maestranza de Caballeria and a hop on hop off bus tour of the city. The Plaza de Espana was really something so was the metropole parasol. In total we spent, over a period of 27 hours, which included 14 in bed, 10hours walking around, most of the rest of the time we were sat eating, food was also wonderful. Sadly we didn't see the inside of the cathedral or the Alcazar as queues very long and very pricey, or so we felt.
      Wind has picked up and is likely to stay high for a few days so might take a trip to Jerez or Santa Maria tomorrow. But the other exciting news is we have booked our condor tickets so will be in Guernsey for 2weeks from 20 December, I am looking forward to seeing everyone. John says he is to, his face just doesn't show it.😉      Læs mere

      Cadiz

      So from Isla de Canela we cruise to Mazagon where we did nothing more exciting than some shopping. Then on to Rota in the Bay of Cadiz it was a lovely day so we traveled a little further than normal. On Sunday we took a ferry to Cadiz and wandered around, the history bit is on a Peninsula so nowhere is too far away. We visited the cathedral with the yellow done and the tower. There was an audio guide which was great but a little too heavy on details, the cathedral had 10chapels and the guide told you in detail about each one, including every picture, statue and benefactor. It also told you about the main cathedral and choir, wooden carved seating, which were stunning and the underlying crypt where a famous Cadiz poet called Jose de Falla is buried (with some other people). I took a photo of the theatre named after him as proof. There is also a photo of where we had our late Lunch.Læs mere
