First day done early.

Well.. the first day. As I mentioned, I hiked 4 miles uphill to reach the TRT. I started on my journey at around 10:30, and all was well. A young guy was hiking towards me, so I asked if he was hiking the whole trail. He said yep. Counterclockwise? He said, No, clockwise. I informed him he was going the wrong way. He turned around and we hiked together all day. Colin from Oregon. Nice kid, like most on the trail. We reached Star Lake where I was going to stop for the night. 14 miles with 3k elevation gain was enough for one day. As soon as we found a suitable spot to put up tents, it started to hail. We hunkered under trees until it simmered down. I got my tent up just before the hail came back. Warm and dry now. Colin moved on. Fast hiker. I won't see him again.Leia mais
