Häßliche Häuser, coole Murals.
Viele dieser Werke entstanden im Rahmen der Initiative Sea Walls: Murals for Oceans, unterstützt von der PangeaSeed Foundation, einer internationalen Meeresschutzorganisation, deren Schwerpunkt auf der Schaffung eines Bewusstseins für Ozeane durch Kunst liegt. Im Jahr 2016 begann PangeaSeed mit lokalen Gruppen zusammenzuarbeiten, um ein öffentliches Kunstprogramm zu entwickeln, das sowohl Gebäude in ganz Cancún verjüngen als auch die Botschaft des Ökotourismus und des Meeresschutzes hervorheben sollte.
Top-Straßenkünstler nehmen sich ehrenamtlich Zeit, um die Wandgemälde mit Meeresmotiven zu malen. An dem Projekt haben sich auch lokale Cancún-Künstler sowie solche aus Mexiko-Stadt, Guadalajara und sogar aus Österreich und Brasilien beteiligt.

Many of these works were created under the initiative Sea Walls: Murals for Oceans, backed by the PangeaSeed Foundation, an international marine conservation organization whose focus is creating awareness of oceans though art. In 2016, PangeaSeed began collaborating with local groups to create a public arts program that would both rejuvenate buildings throughout Cancún while also highlighting a message of ecotourism and ocean conservation.
Top street artists volunteer their time to paint the ocean-themed murals; local Cancún artists as well as those from Mexico City, Guadalajara and from as far away as Austria and Brazil, have also taken part in the project.Read more
