Das Museum für Islamische Kunst in Doha gilt als eines der bedeutendsten Museen für islamische Kunst auf der Arabischen Halbinsel. Das Museum wurde von I. M. Pei entworfen und im November 2008 eröffnet. Das Museum gilt als letztes Meisterwerk des bei Eröffnung 91-jährigen Pei, der zu diesem Zweck eine halbjährige Studienreise arabischer Architekturformen unternommen hatte. Der Gebäudekomplex verfügt über eine Grundfläche von 260.000 Quadratmetern. Und es ist wunderschön! Es ist angenehm gekühlt, hat eine tolle Aussicht, es riecht gut (!) und hat nettes Personal. Die Ausstellungen sind gut sortiert, man wird nicht überladen, man hat Platz und alles ist in angenehmen Naturtönen gehalten. Wirklich schön.
