Der eigentliche Höhepunkt des Tagesausflugs: Tam Coc. 😃 Tam Cốc, wörtlich „drei Höhlen“, besteht aus drei natürlichen Höhlen – Hang Cả, Hang Hai und Hang Ba – am Fluss Ngô Đồng. Touristen werden in kleinen Booten vom Dorf Ván Lám aus entlang des Flusses durch Reisfelder und Kalksteinkarste, durch Höhlen und zurück gebracht. Einheimische Frauen und Männer fungieren als Ruderer. Sie sind dafür bekannt, dass sie ihre Boote mit den Füßen rudern. Das Gebiet trägt den Spitznamen „Halong-Bucht im Landesinneren“, wohin ich in ein paar Tagen gehen werde.

The actual highlight of the day trip: Tam Coc. 😃 Tam Cốc, literally "three caves", consists of three natural caves — Hang Cả, Hang Hai, and Hang Ba — on the Ngô Đồng River. Tourists are taken in small boats along the river from the village of Ván Lám, through rice fields and limestone karsts, through the caves, and back. Local women and men serve as rowers.
