Black Point to Staniel Cay

We pulled up the anchor around 10:00 am and went about 2 hours to Staniel Cay. We were here before but it was very windy. This time we planned to snorkel Thunderball Grotto, which is from a scene in the James Bond movie with the same name.

Monday, March 4 - We anchored about 100 yards from Thunderball Grotto. We could easily see how many boats were there, so we tried to time our visit with the fewest amount of paid tourists boats. It was very cool, you can easily snorkel in. It’s a cavern with a lot of small fish of various colors, blue and gold, purplish-blue, small zebra fish. Some slightly larger fish, a foot at most. Colorful orange coral. Earlier in the morning we went to the blue and the pink grocery stores. I was impressed with how well stocked the blue store is even though it’s not that large. I got an avocado! And Wheat Thins!!! They were $10.25 for a small box but sometimes you just gotta do it!Read more
