Loitering around Lauzerte

We headed off this morning without Mary, who will be going back to her home in Frayssinet-Le-Gélat to serve out her isolation period. We were all sad about Mary having to leave but, in the Pilgrim spirit, we were taking it one step at a time.

Our first stop was Lauzerte, a beautiful medieval bastide perched above the valley and hills of the area known as Quercy Blanc. Founded in the 12th century by the Count of Toulouse, the village is located on the Chemin de St Jacques de Compostella. Jerome showed us around the village. It was fairly quiet as it was Sunday morning, so we just wandered around looking at the lovely old buildings, the views out across the valley, and some of the art currently on display. It is a beautifully maintained village and I would like to return to spend more time here.Læs mere
