    Lunch at Restaurant Sankt Annæ

    After dropping off our goodies from our successful retail therapy session we headed off for lunch, a 20 minute walk from the apartment. This restaurant was highly recommended by our host Anna. It was a lovely walk to the restaurant, we saw different sites of Copenhagen we hadn’t previously seen.

    The restaurant was quite traditional, but lovely and we both decided on Smørrebrød. Brigitte chose smoked eel and eggs and I chose potatoes, onion, bacon and mayonnaise on pumpernickel- it was an absolutely delicious sandwich. We chose a wonderful German Pinot to accompany the meal. The Smørrebrød weren’t huge so we both had room for the chocolate cake which was probably one of the best chocolate cakes I have ever tasted. After lunch we strolled around the beautiful neighbourhood of Nyhavn, a 17th century waterfront, canal and entertainment district.
