Cruising the Canals of Copenhagen

We decided since the weather is going to be sunny today we will do a one hour boat cruise to see some of the sites of Copenhagen. The boat was quite packed initially and we were sitting inside. Luckily when the boat stopped at Nyhavn many got off so we were able to relocate to the back of the boat and sit outside where we had a much better view.

We started at Ved Stranden and headed to Nyhavn, from there we went past the Christianborg Palace, Strøget, the Old Stock Exchange, the Royal Danish Playhouse, the Opera House, Holmen, The Sixtus Battery, The Little Mermaid, Kastellet which is also known as the Citadel, Gefion Fountain, Amalienborg Palace, Christiania, Our Saviours Church, the Black Diamond, which is also known as the Royal Library and the National Museum of Denmark.

As a general overview the boat tour is good, but it was nice then to return to specific areas on foot. I definitely had to go and see the Little Mermaid and saw some lovely other areas as a result.Read more
