    Lunch and beyond in Leuven

    November 5, 2022 in Belgium ⋅ ⛅ 11 °C

We found a fabulous authentic Italian restaurant where we had a really wonderful lunch with a delicious bottle of red from Puglia. Brigitte had grilled scampi and I had the fettuccine with a lovely seafood sauce - full of mussels, vongole and scampi - both meals got the thumbs up as did the wine.

Following lunch we did some more wandering around the streets, we went past the old market square, a lovely food market where all the produce is grown by the sellers and we also passed lots of lovely stores, but I resisted temptation.

We found a fabulous sculpture by Fred Bellefroid called De Kotmadam and another by P Vanbekbergen called Paep Thoon. Both were excellent with lots of character.

Be for we knew it, it was time to head back to the station to catch our train back to Limal, we arrived around 4.30 and decided we would have a quiet night in as we had had a large meal at Lunchtime.

We started with some Old Amsterdam cheese and a glass of Australian Shiraz. For dinner we just had some toast and cheese.
