Our aire is around a 10 minute walk from the beautiful cathedral and the area around Place Tourny where the torch will reach its final destination for the day.
There were hundreds of people out on the streets, lots of security and lots of entertainment. It was great to watch the procession and be a part of the celebrations. We had the chance to walk through some of the very historic streets near the cathedral aswell.
Niska had a kip in the motorhome while we were out (I wouldn't say keeping guard because she'd be a terrible guard dog....too easily bribed with a biscuit!).

We are staying in Rozoy sur Serre today. It's been very grey and wet but there is a great walk directly from our aire along a former railway line and it takes alot more than poor weather to keep us indoors! We had a lovely walk, most of it off lead for Niska which she loves.
We are very well provided for on this free village aire, all 4 places are occupied.

We started our day with a visit to the Beau Village of Parfondeval, possibly one of the most interesting villages we have visited in terms of its retained history. Saint-Médard Church was absolutely beautiful having undergone numerous restorations over the centuries.
The beautifully restored lavoire (wash house) known as the 'Parliament of Women" made us smile!

Our park up at Le Nouvion-en-Thiérache is on the edge of a park surrounded by a forest, a very lovely spot which we stayed at in 2017 (though we only recalled that when we arrived here!).
There were lots of families enjoying the space today including us and we did alot of walking.Leggi altro

We driven our longest distance in France on this trip today. Heading north east to our stopover very close to the Belgian border. This area of France is largely agricultural and the main routes are quite industrial and not particularly inspiring. The latter part of the journey after a lunch stop was off the main route and much more interesting.
Hondschoote, where we are staying has a beautiful church and Mairie in the centre and we had a nice walk around. Our aire is by a sports stadium and an historic windmill. Just us here tonight, it's peaceful.
