Breakfast at Maxwell centre today. Kaya toast from 1950s was not so good bread wise (got soggy after a bit) though they used good butter. Danny said the kopi was good but I couldn't tell...Would not queue again, took ages cos just one person at the stall.

We walked to Chinatown to look around. Had durian again and this time it was so good, $10 (so cheaper than the other place which was $12) and super creamy, with a designated seating area. Just across from the Starbucks. Remi didn't want it this time! Wonder if it smelled strong to her.

Remi broke the clasp of two gold anklets from mom that my brother used to wear when he was a baby. Today I went to see how much a repair might be. I knew gold was expensive, but didn't know it was this expensive. 5 years ago it was 1/8 the price it is now. Fyi inflation in Singapore has only increased prices about 50% ie something worth $100 25 years ago is worth $150 now. Poh Heng was only able to do repairs on their own jewellery and couldn't find an identifying mark on the jewelry. Got a quote from a repairer that to reweld the clasp would be $35, or $310 to replace with a spring/parrot clasp. So we're... Not going to replace it at the moment..

I browsed Poh Heng's site and that's when I realised her anklets might be worth like $700 and $3.5k?? If I had known ahead of time I'm not sure if I'd have had her wear them lol!

Snack at Chinatown complex then walk back to hotel for a bit before heading out to meet Maria for dinner. :)
