    Sucre-Potosi amazing formations

    October 7, 2017 in Bolivia ⋅ ☀️ 19 °C

There was this one section of the road near Potosi where there were some amazing geological formations right next to the road. The land had uplifted and multiple layers of different textures and colors had been exposed to the atmosphere. The softer layers like sandstone had been eroded while the hard lava basalt had remained to make for some very dramatic formations. There were honeycomb erosion effects as well there.
A lovely spot, worth stopping by for a few minutes.
