Chacaltaya tour

For this day, we had booked a tour to Chakaltaya peak and the Moom Valley. We were supposed to be at the tour operators office opposite the hostel at 8:10 am. We were in the restaurant by 7:40 am for the breakfast but there was only one waitress so we received our breakfast at about 8 pm. We stuffed ourselves quickly and were at the office by 8:15 am.
The van to pick us up came in about 15 min. Then we were off after picking up 6 more people.
The initial 30-40 min of the journey was quite boring with just dry grassland on both the sides of the road.
The funs started when we started ascending.
La Paz is at about 3300 mts and the parking for the Chacaltaya is about 5200 mts.
Ascend was steep and the views were really beautiful. There were many lakes on the way. There were herds os llamas and alpacas grazing the fields. Czytaj więcej
