    We had rented a vehicle for one day and got a discount of 15000 CLP on the original price of 50000 CLP. It was a Suzuki Jimmy we got. We stopped for some breakfast at the main street amd then were off.
    Our 1st stop was Ana Te Pahu cave. It is often called the Banana Cave due to the banana trees growing at the hollow that forms the entrance to the cave. It is one of the most spacious cave on the island and is part of a huge underground lava tubes complex.
    It was used as a water storage system in the past since the water filtered through and collected below, especially during the rainy season.
    Bananas and other plants grow in the hollow at the entrance of the cave due to the humidity and protection from the wind.
