Start of the San Francisco glacier trek

We woke up around 9 am and checked out by 10:30 am. We left our bags in the car and went to the shop. Our hostel owner had told us that sometimes the shop owner can make fried eggs for breakfast, so we went to check with him. They had not opened when we reached so we called out to them and they agreed to open the shop for us. They also agreed to make eggs and coffee for us.
We also convinced them to cook some egg pies with vegetables for our lunch/dinner when we come back from the trek. By the time we finished the breakfast, it was 11:45 am and the El Morado National Monument closed for entries at 12 pm. We hurried over to the entrance and started the trek just in time. It was very nice and green around us, much different than the kind of treks we have been doing in the altiplano. It was quite hot in the sun. The views around were stunning.Read more
