Saltos Petrohué - 1st cascades

The Petrohué waterfall has many series of cascades formed by the Petrohué River falling over the hard lava rocks from the Osorno volcano. The Conaf (local tourism ministry) has constructed bridges across some of the cascades so the pathway goes deep into almost the middle of the waterfalls. We had mixed feelings about the bridges damaging the beauty of the place while without those one couldn't go far enough to see all the cascades.Read more
