The witch's house

Just a few meters after Laguna Verde, we came across the mirador over the Coyhaique town. Right next to it was a ladder going down into the forest where the trail continued. A few minutes later, we came across the Witch's House. There is an interesting story behind the place that I got to know later from one of the park rangers.
When this area was still uninhabited, a few natives moved there and started living as shepards, grazing their cattle. When the big meat companies moved there, they found the land very suitable for the cattle to feed on. They set up industries there and started taking over the land. But, according to a law in Chile, they could not take over the land where someone was already living. So, the natives, built a house overnight to claim the land.
