Rebcev Laz translates to Fishermen's Clearing,

The Gothic Church of Saint John the Baptist.

Across the lake you can see the cables of the cable car that took us to Vogel two days ago.

Zlatorog (the Goldhorn), a legendary white chamois with golden horns from Slovenian folklore.

Zlatorog is said to guard magical treasures in the Julian Alps.

Lake Bohinj

Today was our last day in beautiful Slovenia ❤️

We walked around Lake Bohinj … a 12 km perimeter and quite a contrast to Lake Bled. I read these descriptions of ‘the vibe’ of each:

Lake Bled - Manicured, busy, and vibrant with an iconic island church and clifftop castle.

Lake Bohinj - Wild, pristine, and quiet, framed directly by the steep peaks of the Julian Alps.

Sounds spot on to me. How wonderful to be able to enjoy both.

These last few posts have been something of a catch up as I was many days behind. So, nothing more to say - just photos of the Lake Bohinj path and two magnificent images of Savica Waterfall, courtesy of The French. ❤️

Domi made this detour to Savica on his own. I reluctantly decided not to join him as my knee was not happy about the 550 steps 🥺 But he came back with descriptions and photos and, kindly, agreed I’d made the right decision 😘
