    Exploring Windermere Lake

    Today we took the train to Windermere Lake, and explored it via ferry.

    We started our day with breakfast and coffee at the house, and then drove to the nearby train station. We had a blast on an old steam train(that now uses diesel) and road it to Lake Windermere. Once there, we boarded a ferry and rode it the majority of the lake, stopping at the town of Ambleside at the north end to grab lunch. We picked a quaint old pub for lunch called “The Priesthole” named after the historical priest holes where catholic priests would hide during the 16th and 17th centuries during the reformation(these priest holes were often secret rooms in homes). We had a wonderful lunch, other than Chris hitting his head on the roof on the way out 😂

    After lunch we took the ferry back across the lake, and then trained home. Back at the house we cooked spaghetti and meatballs for dinner, and all enjoyed a relaxing evening, with many of us watching the new “Squid Games” on Netflix.    Read more
