    Exploring Amman

    Today we journeyed from the Dead Sea to Amman(Jordan’s capital), and explored the city of Amman.

    We started our day with a massive breakfast spread at our hotel, and then took an uber from the Dead Sea to Amman. Once in Amman we got settled at our hotel, and then took another uber to the Amman Citadel, which is the ruins of a Roman city in the heart of Amman sitting atop a mountain. The ruins themselves were super interesting, although they were a bit worn down compared to some of the ruins we’ve seen in our travels. There were a number of Roman columns, as well as a royal reception hall that was still standing. We got great views of the city from here, and then walked down from the citadel to the nearby Roman Theater.

    The Roman Theater was a Roman amphitheater built into the side of a mountain, and it was reasonably well maintained and really cool to see. We walked past it and on to Amman downtown, where we explored rainbow street. Amman is a chaotic city with lots of traffic, and LOTS of hills. As such, it’s not the most walkable place. Once we were tired of walking we headed back to our hotel and enjoyed the spa amenities for the evening.    Read more
