Vang Vieng II
January 11, 2020 in Laos
I woke up the next day feeling very depressed just because we haven't resolved our fight yet. I had an amazing breakfast though and I got on our jeep for the day. We didn't talk to each other the whole day today, even though I had such an amazing line up of activities. I also wasn't in the mood to talk to any of my companions though they did try to talk to me.
Our first stop was to go tubing through some underground caves, that was really fun to be honest, I had to pull myself with a rope while my ass was submerged in cold water. Some people fell in and I can only imagine how fun that would have been. After tubing through the caves, we went to go kayaking across the Mekong river. I was the only solo-traveler so I got paired with one of the guides, lucky me because I really suck at kayaking that time so the guide really pulled my weight. The river itself was beautiful, brown from the soil but surrounded by amazing mountains and forests. It was a long way to the end goal, we stopped by a restaurant in along the way and had some pretty good food. One of the girls tried the swing on the river and ended up losing her glasses. After paddling for who knows how long, we finally reached the final destination, not before seeing a couple of boat crashes on one of the banks. This was one of the moments I was thankful to be paired with the guide.
Our last stop was the blue lagoon, it was really definitely blue and a lagoon. There was a swing but it was crowded by Koreans so I just stayed put for a bit and had a rest at one of the cafes nearby waiting for the final pick up. I was still quite depressed throughout the whole day. It was really a bummer. We got picked up and dropped off at one of the tour agencies office, I was asked again by one of my companions if I was okay and I just told them I was having problems with my girlfriend.
At night, I went off again to the restaurant to try some magic mushrooms again, this time I took the fresh one and gulped it along the way. Not even half way to my hotel, I already started feeling the effects. This was my first lesson on set and setting with psychedelics, taking them with such negative emotions in me was definitely not going to end well. It definitely led to a very bad trip, I ended up puking and there was so much sadness. I went down and talked with Tom for a bit, he was such a kind guy and just listened and comforted me knowing I was tripping balls. He offered me a cigarette and I just chilled with him on the poolside staring at the full moon. He led me back to my room and told me the puke was no problem and left me some bananas too. I later went out again to go to the open area and just stared at some trees that seemed to resemble a goddess. I took a shower and went back to bed, video chatted with some friends like Nikita and Sarah just for the laughs and funny story and finally went to sleep.Read more
