Koyun Adası

Kekova is a small, uninhabited island. On its northern side, there are the ruins of a city that collapsed during an earthquake in the 2nd century. It was later rebuilt as Xera, a city that flourished during the Byzantine period - you can still see the ruins of one of their cathedrals. It was finally abandoned during the Arab incursions and later on disputed between Italy and Turkyie, for wood exploitation during the summer months. It belongs to Turkyie since 1932 and is uninhabited.

This the peak of our boat tour. The boat took an hour long break here, enough for us to walk around and have some delicious home made ice cream.
Kudos the guy from the cafe who pointed a mirror to me while trying to take a picture with their sign. Made me feel like a million bucks.

2 people didn’t pay attention to the time and were left behind. The boat had to back up shortly after we left. This is the second time since our arrival in Turkyie when the boats leave exactly on time and would rather leave people behind.Read more
