    Give me the Art

    February 22, 2018 in Austria ⋅ ⛅ 0 °C

I arrived in Vienna by the plane (shame on me for using planes) and I went directly to my friends appartment where I were able to stay. She had to work and go to university most of the days I were there, so I was mostly all by myself. But I had no problem with that!
First I visited the historical art museum. It was so stunning and there was an exhibition at the time where you were able to reach the famous wall paintings painted by Gustav Klimt (my love) and observe them. There was a lovely café which was way to expensive for me. So I decided to walk around until I found something – and I did. I ended up at the Naschmarkt, which is a square full of restaurants. I chose a Japanese one because I love sushi and it wasn't expensive. I know, it's not typical Austrian but I don't eat meat, so Wiener Schnitzel wasn't an option for me.
After lunch I went in another art museum. That time it was the Leopold Museum. There were a lot of Egon Schiele (my other love) and Gustav Klimt paintings which I enjoyed a lot. It was quite modern and the completely opposite to the museum before. I've spent some hours enjoying Klimts paintings before going to my friends appartement.

  • Haus des Meeres

    February 23, 2018 in Austria ⋅ 🌫 0 °C

Today I decided to visit the Haus des Meers (House of the sea). It was in a tall building and didn't looked like it was much, but – oh boy, I was suprised. There were so many great aquaria and also some other tropic animals like monkeys, birds, chamaeleon and much more. You had to walk a lot of stairs, because every floor as another theme, but it's totally worth it!Read more

  • Finding The Kiss

    February 23, 2018 in Austria ⋅ 🌫 0 °C

This evening, after the House of the Sea, I decided to visit the Belvedere Museum where there was a lot of art. Art, I loved. I've found Klimts masterpieces and couldn't keep my eyes off. I am sure that I stared at The Kiss for over an hour because it's so moving. But not only Klimt held me hostage, Egon Schiele who painted The Embrace was contributing to that magic. Beside from that there was a lot to see. A lot of great paintings and statues and a great architecture.Read more

  • Walking around

    February 24, 2018 in Austria ⋅ ☀️ 0 °C

That day I walked around without any specific goal. I just wanted to feel the vibe of the city. I came across that beautiful church of which I frogot the name (shame on me). They were restoring it at the time, so you couldn't visit the whole church.
Afterwards I decided to visit the Weltmuseum – the World Museum. There was a big collection of things from all corners of the globe. Also there were a lot of videos to watch and things to touch!
