Swan Green

Today we are coming almost full circle to where we started. We are visiting Sizergh Castle a medieval manor filled with treasure collected by 26 generations of the Strickland family. At our first attempt at parking we find car park is full with no space for our now larger Motorhome so we leave and visit the near by farm shop. After a spot of lunch we attempt the castle again this time with more luck.
The castle is two storey and we're allowed to walk around freely with guides every now and then to answer any questions you may have.
We walked around the gardens which in a few weeks time will be full of colour before heading to our last stopover at The Tavern at Hale, another freebie in exchange for a meal. Bangers and mash for me Cheese Pie for Martin, too many syns but very nice.Read more
