Wir sind schon wieder früh erwacht. Hardy dreht schon seine Strandrunde. Aber rein ins Wasser will er dann doch nicht. Ist ja auch sehr kühl hier am Pazifik. Nach dem Frühstück packten wir alles zusammen, stöpselten das WoMo ab & verließen den wunderbaren CG.
Auf geht’s heute nach SAN FRANCISCO. Wir haben eine lange Fahrt vor uns. Aber zuerst einmal müssen wir dringend unser Tankproblem lösen. Eigentlich hatten wir gestern ausgerechnet, dass wir bis zur nächsten Tankstelle noch mindestens 80 mi im Tank haben. Allerdings kannten wir die Strecke die vor uns lag noch nicht🫣
Und das WoMo ist bei einer Serpentinenstraße bergauf seeehr durstig. So hatten wir als wir an der Tankstelle ankamen sage und schreibe nur noch 11km auf der Anzeige stehen. Und ausgerechnet dort war der Sprit am teuersten 5 $ / Gallone (ca 1,40€/l) Also trotzdem noch billiger als in Deutschland. Immer am Pazifik Coast Hwy 1 konnten wir dann ganz entspannt die spektakulären Aussichten auf die Küste des Pazifik‘s genießen. Kurz vor Bodega Bay verließen wir dann den Hwy 1 Richtung unserem RV-Park vor San Francisco (SFO).
Im RV-Marin Park in Larkspur werden wir 2 Nächte verbringen, denn bis nach SFO
mit dem WoMo zufahren ist keine Option. Zu stressig und ob wir geeignete Parkplätze finden ist fraglich.
Von hier aus können wir mit der Fähre bis SFO PIER 1 fahren. Danke an Line & Franz für die super Planung & Organisation. Da merken wir „Alten“, dass wir eben doch nicht mehr so „UP TO DATE“ sind.
Also nach dem wir eingecheckt & das WoMo angeschlossen haben, ging es auf zur Fähre. Nach 10 Minuten Fußmarsch standen wir am Automat & lösten unsere Fahrkarte. Nun die große Frage: Wo müssen wir hin? Denn es gab keine Anzeige, welche Fähre wo abfährt. Vor einem Eingang hat sich schon eine lange Schlange gebildet. Und was macht man nunmal, wenn man eine Schlange sieht? Sich hinten anstellen, genau! Wir wunderten uns zwar, dass der Eingang so bewacht war & auch so viele dies Fähre benutzen wollten. Als es endlich vorwärts ging, kam Gottseidank eine Kontrolleurin und sagte, dass wir verkehrt hier sind. Nun mussten wir uns sputen, dass wir unsere Fähre noch erreichen. Angekommen auf der Fähre, welche im übrigen nicht voll war, suchten wir uns einen schönen Platz auf dem Außendeck am Heck. Als wir uns setzen wollten, warnte uns eine nette Frau davor uns dort hinzusetzen, da wir definitiv sehr nass dort werden. Wir bedankten uns freundlich für diesen Tipp und suchten uns dann doch lieber im Innenbereich schöne Plätze, welche uns hoffentlich die Aussicht auf die Golden Gate Bridge und Alcatraz ermöglichen sollten. Nun ging die Fahrt los. Zuerst sehr langsam, dann nahm der Kapitän volle Fahrt auf. Das Wetter heute war sehr kühl und Wolkenverhangen. Durch die hohe Geschwindigkeit spritzte das Wasser an die Fenster, so dass wir auch dadurch nicht viel sehen können. Also doch nochmal nach draußen. Die Golden Gate Bridge konnten wir hinter den Wolken nur erahnen, aber auf Alcatraz hatten wir eine tolle Sicht. Wir standen an der Reling und versuchten im Fahrtwind uns festzuhalten & dabei auch noch schöne Bilder zu machen ohne nass zu werden. Nach einer 22 minütigen Fahrt sind wir am Pier 1 angekommen. JUHU

Wahnsinn. Nun stehen wir hier auf der Embarcadero, die historische Uferstraße. Und zur linken Seite alles Wolkenkratzer 🏙️.
Wir machten uns nun auf zum Pier 39, 1,4 mi/2,25 km. Viele Hotdog Stände und Stände mit frischen Obst ließen uns feststellen, dass wir noch nichts gegessen hatten.
Am Pier 39 angekommen kehrten wir zuerst in einem typischen Surf-Restaurant ein. Wir bestellten uns 3 Burittos und Franz einen Burger. Gut gesättigt konnten wir nun durch die ganzen Souvenirläden tingeln. Der Wind frischte ganz schön auf & da ich nicht damit gerechnet hätte, dass es so kalt wird, musste ich mir wohl oder übel 😜 eine Jacke kaufen. Am Ende des Piers hörten wir komische Geräusche. Franz ging auf Suche und fand dann die „Übeltäter“ 🦭 🦭🦭🦭 tummelten sich auf den Holzbohlen. Manche schliefen, manche schupsten einen anderen von der Bohle, andere robbten über die anderen drüber. Es war richtig lustig anzusehen.
Langsam mussten wir aber umkehren, denn die letzte Fähre zurück ging um 20:00. Auf dem Rückweg überholten uns ständig Läufer, welche sich an einem zentralen Punkt sammelten, WARM-UP‘s machten und dann jeder vierte mit einer Lautsprecherbox auf dem Rücken geschnallt, an uns wieder vorbei liefen. Wir erreichten die Fähre und waren dann durchgefroren aber stark beeindruckt von dem eben erlebten, gegen 20:45 zurück am WoMo. Nun hatten wir aber noch eine komplizierte Sache zu erledigen. Ich hatte eine Email von LUFTHANSA erhalten, dass unsere Rückflüge annulliert wurden🫢😱
Mmh, dann können wir ja eigentlich noch hier bleiben😅

Also kochte ich uns erstmal einen warmen Tee & dann versuchten wir Lufthansa zu erreichen. Leider war es kompliziert, so dass wir nach einer Stunde das Vorhaben vertagten.
Müde fielen wir ins Bett & freuten uns schon auf den morgigen Tag.
