North to Alesund

Only a 40 minute flight from Oslo to Alesund, with lovely view of the islands and fjords on the approach. Alesund is a pretty little town. I eventually found my hotel after dragging my suitcase up a very steep hill and having to ask a couple of friendly locals, who kindly escorted me right to the door. I took a walk up Mount Aksla, 400 steps to viewing point overlooking the town, and walked back down along a path through the trees. The view from my room is very scenic but curtains are thin so don't do a good job of blocking out the midnight sun. It seems strange to go to sleep when the sun is still streaming through the window.Leggi altro
