A Journey to Trollstigen

Took a tour today through the Fjordland area, with the highlight being the Trollstigen highway. From the impressive viewing point there was a view down into the canyon where the winding road takes 11 hairpin bends as it descends. It was fun to stand and watch the distant cars negotiate the road knowing that soon our bus would be going down there. Our driver took it slowly as the road was narrow and coaches, motorhomes and lots of motorbikes going in both directions meant that some of the bends were quite tricky to get round. Halfway down we passed the Stigfossen waterfall, and when finally down in the valley it was a wonderful looking back up at the road. A lovely lunch stop at a rustic restaurant with grass covered roof, and then the long drive back to Alesund. Czytaj więcej
