Exploring Bergen

A rainy morning in Bergen. I took the funicular up Mount Floyen for a misty view over Bergen, and walked some of the walking trails through the quiet forests, the occasional small lake, and was pleased to see the sun breaking through the clouds. Not many people around so it was very tranquil. I decided to walk back down to town along a zigzag road emerging at the bottom of the funicular station where a long queue had now formed of people waiting to go up. Early starts are always worth the effort if you want peace and quiet. A quick wander round the fish market and the Brygge old town area. It was busy now as there was a cruise ship docked. After Alesund, Bergen seemed just a little too crowded for my liking.Read more
