Iftar Hospitality

Anika and I went to Bimmah sinkhole today which was really nice to swim in. Reminded me of the cenotes in Mexico. We ran out of time to go to Wadi Shab, so we went to Sur instead. We were standing on the beach there when a local started talking with us and then invited us to join his family for dinner. We thought that we might be sitting with the family and just eating the extra food, but instead as we went into his house, he gave us a whole room to ourselves with an entire feast just for us. We were so surprised and wondered if we were maybe on a secret TV show or something. We asked to meet his family and said hi to his wife and all his children, and then we went back to our room to eat the best meal that we had had in Oman. So tasty. And then our host came with his youngest daughter and sat with us as he presented us with a delicious dessert. We all talked a bit as we watched sports with him on TV. It was such an amazing experience, exactly what I had been wanting to experience in Oman - getting to meet locals. Oman is truly a land of hospitality.Weiterlesen
