2nd Day in Fort Worth @ Stockyards

    13 juni, Förenta staterna ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

Full day wandering around the stockyards in Fort Worth. If you want cowboys and the true Western experience, this is the place to come.

The Fort Worth Stockyards is a National Historic District that was once the largest livestock market in the United States. It was established in 1887 when local businessmen chartered the Union Stock Yards to handle the growing cattle trade. The Stockyards reached its peak in 1944 when it processed over 5 million head of livestock. However, the decline of the railroad and the rise of the trucking industry led to a decrease in business at the Stockyards, and it eventually closed in 1971. Today, the Stockyards is a popular tourist destination that hosts the world's only twice-daily cattle drive.Läs mer
