Our afternoon was spent leisurely exploring the eastern region of the island. Coastal towns, lighthouses, and potato fields were aplenty.
One drive....two coasts. We had a full day to explore both the north and south coast as well as the lush inland areas. We were blessed with a gorgeous day....the temperature was 29; the sun wasもっと詳しく
North Rustico is a fishing village with a population of 850. Deep sea fishing, kayaking and biking was available to tourists. The most adventurous thing we did was a leisurely stroll!
Lunch time! Although this restaurant was a tourist attraction and catered to tour buses, the setting was beautiful and the food delicious. I had a bacon wrapped potato pie, one of their signatureもっと詳しく
A short ten minute drive inland and we were in rolling hills and more potato fields. Apparently potatoes grow very well in the iron rich red soil. This was also one of our favourite regions on theもっと詳しく

The southern coast has red sand beaches, views of the Confederation Bridge, fishing villages (Victoria-by-the-Sea was my favourite with its pastel coloured buildings), and beautiful sunsets. It was aもっと詳しく
