  • Wine tourists!

    February 3, 2019 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

We woke up in the Cape Lodge and enjoyed a wander around the Estate and sat on our balcony overlooking one of the lakes. Being in the famous Elizabeth River wine region we naturally booked ourselves into a local winery for a tour and lunch and chose one recommended to us by our Aussie mates who stayed with us a few months back. Vasse Felix is the oldest and one of the biggest wineries in the area and is in an enchanting spot. They do the “cellar door tasting” very well and Ken had to be persuaded exporting a case of their wine to Coulsdon probably wasn’t sensible, particularly when we heard Waitrose stock it! However, lunch was fantastic, the food down here really is first rate. We have enjoyed our short trip to this lovely part of the world!Read more
