    Barcelona Day 1

    Arrived to Barcelona and explored our gorgeous hotel near city center🤩 Then relaxed on the hotel terrace bar and had some drinks (1/2 the group got cerveza, 1/2 got coffee/coke haha).

    After we got our rooms settled, did some exploring/walking on the streets around our hotel and had an early dinner at our hotel’s restaurant! Then we did some more walking around the city, and now headed to bed to catch up on sleep💫 Such a gorgeous, walkable, lively/young city. We cant get over how pretty it is!! SO excited to explore more tomorrowLæs mere

    Barcelona Day 2

    Started the morning with croissants and coffee, then walked to some of Gaudí’s famous buildings including La Sagrada Família and Casa Battló which were stunning!!

    Had some baguette sandwiches and paella for lunch, then took a Cable Car up to Castell de Montjuïc which had incredible views of the port, city, and mountains!Læs mere

    Barcelona Day 2

    After Castell de Montjuïc, we went thrift shopping! Then headed back to the hotel and grabbed a drink at the hotel terrace bar.

    After a quick rest, we all got ready for dinner at a STUNNING rooftop restaurant! Our waitor was so nice and gave us blankets to use in case we got cold. Finished our night with another walk around downtown to get some gelato 🥰Læs mere

    Barcelona Morning / Boarding the cruise!

    This morning the gals took a short walk to see the Cathedral of Barcelona. We then said goodbye to our hotel and made our way to the cruise port where we boarded our home for the next 12 days! We have a view of the castle we visited yesterday from the boat!

    Uncle Kevin was a wimp and couldn’t finish his mojito, so bren took one for the team and double fisted LOL

    Bren will add more photos of the boat to this footprint later ☺️🫡 — ADDED!! we had an amazing dinner on the boat deck as we departed from barcelona, and got to watch a beautiful sunset st sea :)    Læs mere

    Monte Carlo & St Paul De Vence

    Started the morning with breakfast on the ship, and then lounged on the sun deck while admiring the view of our first port:
    Monte Carlo, Monaco!

    In the afternoon, we headed out for our first excursion, a drive along the French Riviera (Cote d’Azur) to the rural hilltop village of St-Paul-de-Vence, France!! We got to walk through the cute cobblestone alleys, shop at local artist markets, and grab a drink :)

    Then headed back to Monte Carlo and explored the BEAUTIFUL coastal city!! Including walking on the racetrack for the upcoming F1 Grand Prix🤩

    Monaco is absolutely stunning. SO lucky to be here!!    Læs mere

    Marsailles & Cassis

    Started this morning with breakfast in our room overlooking the ocean as we got ready for the day at our second port: Sanaray Sur-Mer, France!

    First, we drove through a beautiful national park (Parc national des Calanques) to get to Marsailles, France! We walked around the port city, got crepes and coffee, and visited the city’s Basilica. The city had just hosted an “olympic torch” ceremony 2 days ago for the upcoming France Olympic Games!

    In the afternoon, we drove to Cassis, France which was the cutest little harbour town area. We walked around the shops, saw the local beach, and had drinks/lunch at an outdoor café. We then headed back to the ship for dinner by the pool!    Læs mere

    Florence & Pisa

    Today we docked in our next port: Tuscany, Italy (Livorno)! We are all SO excited to be in Italy and were lucky to have perfect weather and a great tour guide for our excursion today.

    Started off with a trip to Pisa to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa! It was beautiful and was leaning so much more than any of us thought. Very cool to hear about the tower’s history.

    Then drove into Florence and had an amazing lunch of pasta, bread, Brunello wine, and gelato. Got plenty of time to explore the city and joined our group for a walking tour of the historical sites including the Duomo!

    Arrived back to the cruise ship and the staff welcomed us with champagne, live music, and a “clap-in” lol!    Læs mere

    Rome!

    Today was an incredible day at our next port/city: Rome, Italy!

    We started our morning at Piazza del Popolo, then walked to The Vatican City where we got to go in St. Peter’s Basilica during a mass, and got to attend Pope Francis’ blessing in St. Peter’s Square which was incredible!!

    Then we stopped for a delicious italian lunch before walking through the city to the main sightseeing spots: Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Colosseum, and Spanish Steps. We got some incredible tiramisu along the way. Once back on the cruise ship, we got to see a show from a West End performer which was great.

    Capri!

    Today we had the most amazing day in Capri, Italy! We docked in Sorrento and took a scenic boat ride over to the island of Capri where we met our amazing tour guide Fabio.

    We then made our way up the mountain to a chair lift ride that had the most incredible views i’ve ever seen!! Had some cappuccinos at the top of the mountain too :)

    Then Fabio took us all to lunch at a local restaurant where we had the most amazing Caprese, Seafood, Pasta, and Limoncello Spritz’s while overlooking the water.

    We then got to shop and walk around Capri for a bit, as well as getting a limincello slushie, before boating back to Sorrento. Once back on the ship, we had dinner, went to the ship casino, and played late night putt putt on the pool deck!    Læs mere

    Palermo (Sicily)

    Arrived at our next port/city, Palermo, Sicily, Italy! Again had such incredible weather, we have been so so lucky.

    Our excursion today was called “Mysterious Palermo”. All 7 of us went on the excursion so we had a good time!! We got to walk through an ancient arabic-style palace (Castello della Zisa), then got to go down to the Capuchin Catacombs which is the largest collection of mummies in the world.

    Next we stopped for a quick snack, then headed to “new town” where we got to tour a beautiful arabic-inspired church, see the “The Fountain of Shame”, and see the intersection known as Theater of the Sun (Teatro del Sole), where the four ancient quarters of Palermo meet and the sun lights up each corner like a spotlight as the day goes on.

    Since this was a morning excursion, we got the rest of the afternoon to sun bathe on the pool deck (overlooking the city and mountains) and play some family pickleball!! Also had a great asian meal for dinner on the ship :)    Læs mere

    Boat Day

    No big update from today, as we are cruising all day from Italy to Greece :) It was nice to have a day with no excursions where we could just enjoy being on the boat! We sat by the pool, played tennis, got lots of food/drinks, stopped by the evening musical show, etc.Læs mere

    Corfu

    Today we arrived in our next port city: Corfu, Greece! We met our amazing tour guide Irene and started with a walk through the city around the old fortress. We learned about the history/culture of Corfu, and about the easter tradition of clay pot-smashing to honor the resurrection of Jesus (see all the broken red clay pieces on the ground).

    Then we got to have a lunch of traditional greek foods/wine at the sailing club next to the ionian sea!! Everything was delicious and it was a gorgeous view.

    Then we got free time to walk around Corfu and explore the shops. We met some lovely shop owners, got some jewelry and souvenirs, and had delicious wild strawberry ice cream that is only made on the island of Corfu, and only made for 2 months of the year :) It was amazing and we were lucky to be here at the right time to try it!     The rest of our crew took some time to relax at Barbati Beach. It is a beautiful beach surrounded by mountains. Doug and Kevin braved the cold temperature to take a dip in the crystal clear water. We had a delicious greek style lunch at the beach side restaurant Verde Blu. We then met up with the girls in Old Town, a beautiful part of the city to see the sites and shop!Læs mere

    Dubrovnik

    Today we got to explore Dubrovnik, Croatia! This city is absolutely gorgeous :)

    We started our day with a beautiful drive around the coast/through the valley to a seaside town (Cavtat), where we got to walk around, take in the view, and get some coffee.

    Then we drove to an antique mill (“Izletište Mlin”) where we got to meet the workers and go into the mill houses for a demonstration. We also got to try local candies, meat, cheese, and wine!

    Then we drove back through the valley to Old Town Dubrovnik, which is surrounded by historic medieval fortress walls. We did a short walking tour with our guide, got fresh seafood for lunch, then got to walk the medieval walls of the city and take in the AMAZING views!    Læs mere

    Split

    Today we arrived in Split, Croatia! We started the morning with a drive to a seaside town Trogir, where we got a walking tour of the historical buildings/walls and got to try a local pastry “Trogirski Rafioli” which was delicious.

    Then got to stop at a historic water mill (“Konoba Mlinice”) for a mid-day snack of wine, bread, cheese, and prosciutto. Got a picture of Sean’s “wine face” lol.

    Last we headed back to old town Split where we got a tour of the ancient walls/buildings that make up the town and got to walk around the shops and the seaside promonade :) Everything was so beautiful and rich with history!!

    Ended our night with dinner on the ship, a musical show from a West End performer, and the whole family made it to Karaoke Night where Kaitlyn and I sang some songs along with some of our new cruise friends!    Læs mere

    Venice

    Today we arrived at our final port: Venice, Italy 🥲 We are so sad that this trip is coming to an end!!

    We had a later excursion today, so got to spend some more time on the ship this morning. Then took a ferry over to the city of Venice!! We our tour guide and got a tour of Doge’s Palace. Then got to take a gondola ride down the beautiful canals :) We had time for a quick Aperol Spritz and pizza/canolis before boating back to the cruise ship.

    We finished the night with dinner, then went to the cruise bar for one last night of fun with our cruise friends!    Læs mere
