    April 7 in Slovenia ☀️ 21 °C

We started the day with the breakfast at the hotel. It was unbelievable. They had such a variety. From standard breakfast foods, including home made breads and buns to cheeses, cold cuts, vegetables and desserts and very tasty.
After that we explored the old town. Numerous old buildings, statues and famous bridges. And restaurants and souvenir shops galore. One after another. Including many ice cream and dessert restaurants. There are a few Slovenian foods that are seen in many dishes - sausage, cottage cheese and walnuts. They even have a restaurant dedicated to serving sausage only. We had supper at a traditional Slovenian restaurant. Even the waiters were in costume. We had had an ice cream break in the afternoon so we opted to share a supper of pork tenderloin and you guessed it, Cheese rolls. I do love cottage cheese. These were made differently from the ones yesterday, but still very good. Slovenia also has many wineries. So I’ve been sampling them. And they are very nice.
The river runs through the old town and it’s amazingly cleanish. The restaurants and stores line the river and it’s fun to walk along it, crossing back and forth on the bridges.
