Our 10yr anniversary at Swanage pier

Had two lovely dives under the pier. Viz not the best but not the worse either. Cuttlefish. Scorpion fish. Blue shrimps. Spider leaches and some Tom pots who took dislike to my Gopro torch arm.

Changed our route choice about 3 times from leaving Weymouth. But good choice made. I first visited lands end in the 80s,when all there was was the first n lady house.... Well it's changed quite bit now. Views stil amazing. Czytaj więcej

Stayed over night in Royal yard car park. Free from 18.00-08.00 although no overnight sleeping. Left at 07.50 just as parking warden turned up..... Lucky. It was noisy at start of night and the wind was gusting rather. But not a bad place to stay.

Found jewel of a place to camp over night. Sennen cove... Amazing place. £3.50 for 24hrs. Walked up the cliff to watch the sunset

No diving again today

Went off to lamorna in the hope of a dive but one look at the viz and a cliff walk was done instead. Then went quickly (as there wasn't much there) round Newlyn. *then Mousehole to check out another dive site for future... Looks promising. I've never been so wet

Visited St Michael's mount. Good points we could walk across the causeway. Bad points. They were shutting early due to high winds so no time to look around castle. We got the wettest we ever have. I lost my camera case and a 16gb card.... Walked back over the causeway looking for it when down pour came.

Then drove onto Charlestown and went into shipwreck museum. Tht was really interesting. They had old dive gear there and quite bit loot found on goodwin sands wreck.

Eden. Jail. And Jamaica

So first off eden project... Not as big as I expected, loved rainforest part. Then onto Bodmin jail this was bigger than I expected and also very very grim. The gallows were particularly harrowing. Next stop Jamaica inn made famous by daphne du mauriers in the book of same name. We are staying out in the car park..... Hoping we don't hear things in the night 👻☠️ Czytaj więcej

Things tht go bump in the night!

So unfortunately our trip came to an eprupt halt. During the night the toilet broke... The trap door just wouldn't open, it would not budge. Tryin to squat in the shower at 3am with sprinkles making up my legs wasn't something I wanted to repeat. Unfortunately Brian was on his way so was no way going out in dead of night in howling winds n rain.

We also found out I'm am gas had ran out and we didn't hav correct size spanner to change bottles.... No cup tea them

I actually blamed the Jamaica inn ghost... Being unfriendly although staff said he's usually very friendly... But no home and hearing the wind here which is no way near as bad as Cornwall I'm beginning to think the ghost was being very friendly ensuring we went home and were safe in brick rather than plastic n tin.

So Cornwall unfinished business... Brown willy tor, so we will be back. Czytaj więcej
