    Chiang Mai

    August 3, 2022 in Thailand ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

Chiang Mai, even though is a very touristy city and not super pretty, is full of activities and things to do, which made it a nice stay. I realised that Alli was recharging with all her enthusiasm and energy, because without noticing, I was starting to become more and more antisocial and into my own bubble. So met a lot of people in this place and started to enjoy this sort of vacations of my backpacking, trying not to worry that much about money. At the beginning I got a bit afraid of travelling with Alli, since we are both so different and since this for her is holidays and she had way more money. But each of us decided to do different things during the days and met each other later, so it was literally the perfect way to travel with me, because we both got the freedom to do what we needed and wanted, but had each other back. The first day we visited a few temples on what Alli called the temple run (I wasn't that excited about this proposal) and partied at night. Even though I went out so I would be with Alli, I ended up staying until sun came back and way later than her and enjoyed this things that I was leaving behind. I have to say I haven't seen so many spanish (and even more catalan) during this trip until Chiang Mai, so it was nice to go back to my language for a short period. Did a moi thai class, learned how to make pad thai and went for a very steep hike called monks trail with some people I met at my hostel. And before leaving... Attended a drag show (how amazing it was), which ended up with a late night again and missed the bus to Pai and the yoga class I wanted to attend. Even though Thailand is way mor touristy, the backpacker vibe is way cooler than the other countries I did in south east asia (less english groups and lots of dutch), so I finally enjoyed meeting some new people on my way. And.. small update: finally giving a long break to my travelling and flying to Sydney the 24th of September!
