Tarpon Feeding

Around 20m from our hostel is the tarpon feeding dock. For $5BZD (£2) you get a tub of sardines to feed to the tarpons. They have quite a leap out of the water and one of the big boys even grazed myBaca lagi
The Split

We then headed down to the split for a few hours to soak up the atmosphere and some sun. Chef Tarpey then whipped up our first self-cooked meal of the trip, tuna pasta which was delicious!

Leaving Caye Caulker

This morning we departed from the island paradise of Caye Caulker! Danny waved goodbye to his new bestie (the hostel dog) as we boarded the ferry to Belize City.
Belize City to San Ignacio

Arriving in Xuanantunich

The two of us a a Canadian guy from our hostel hired a taxi driver to take us to Xuanantunich mayan ruins. First up was to cross the river on the 'ferry'!

There were many other ruins in Xunantunich and the best thing was that we were able to climb them all to enjoy the views of both the site itself and out to the wilderness.

Belize to Guatemala

After 5 nights in Belize it was time to wave goodbye as we headed into the highly commended nation of Guatemala!

Tikal - By Day

Tikal - Wildlife

Within the site is plenty of wildlife. We saw dozens of monkeys (howler and spider), many possum like creatures, a few toucans and even an alligator and tarantula!
Views from Temple IV

The tallest temple in Tikal is temple IV. We were able to climb the (non-Mayan made) stairs to the top and enjoy the views over the forest and other monuments far into the distance. Our guide saidBaca lagi

Just before 6pm we headed up a smaller pyramid for a view of the sunset over Tikal which was stunning!
