When we arrived in Wellington from the ferry, we headed up to Plimmerton NZMCA Park. This was a big gravel carpark in an industrial area. We had the worst night of our trip, due to the high wind rocking the motorhome and causing our bike cover to flap all night. There was also, trains, traffic noise, and surprisingly, a rooster somewhere.
We left the park as soon as we could, and parked by the beach in Paekakariki for breakfast. We had Burger King for lunch in Levin, which was a huge disappointment.
We then traveled to Mangaweka, and stayed at Awastone for the night. This was a really nice campground beside the Rangitikei river.
On Monday it was raining all day. We stopped at Motuoapa for a cup of tea, beside the marina. We decided to carry on home, and stopped for McDonald's in Tokoroa for lunch, before arriving home late afternoon.Read more
