Flat Creek Station!

We visited the Lava tubes which are190,000 years old. David Attenborough visited them and thought they should be one of the “wonders of the world”! They are the oldest and biggest in the world. 30 Czytaj więcej
We went fossicking for Topaz and other semi precious stones. Sadly we didn’t find anything!
It was fun to do. Pick axe and shovel in hand we had a go! Hot work, but under the trees in a dry creek bed!
We took lots of water and some food and on the second day we we went up a treacherous dirt road very cleverly manoeuvred by Gordon and helped by Wally the dog!!
It’s hard to believe how beautifully green it is up here compared to where we have come from! Green grass, flowers etc! We are revelling in it! We saw platypuses and tree kangaroos. All in all a Czytaj więcej

We visited the village which is beautifully presented and kept. Many blasts from the past! It is interesting to think that we are probably the last generation to remember having seen some of the Czytaj więcej
Various old cars, a much loved truck, a butterfly an amusing loo sign and a statue!
We have a beautiful camping spot right near the lake. Lots of birds and really nice people!

The most exciting bird is the Red Backed Fairy Wren!
