Neuer Job

Deutsch:
Heute ist der Tag der Tage. Ich habe meinen Termin in der Werkstatt. Zunächst habe ich Kaffee getrunken und mein Bananenbrot gegessen, während ich nach Deutschland telefoniert habe. Bei der Werkstatt angekommen musste ich leider hören, dass die Reparatur mindestens 700 $ kosten wird, es könnte aber auch mehr sein je nachdem was dann wirklich kaputt ist. Aus diesem Grund und da die Werkstatt im kleinen Dorf erst am Freitag für mich Zeit hätte, habe ich mein Auto geparkt und bin runter nach Newcastle gefahren. Dort hat eine Werkstatt morgen für mich Zeit und scheint billiger zu sein. Ich war einkaufen und habe dort meine Vorräte wieder aufgefüllt inklusive tanken und Wasser. Danach habe ich mir einen schönen Platz am Fluss gesucht, da ich heute gerne Angeln möchte. Auf einem Parkplatz habe ich einen älteren Mann kennengelernt, mit dem ich einmal über mein Auto geguckt habe. Er meinte, es könnte auch ein größeres Problem mit meinem Motor sein was mir natürlich Sorge bereitet. Außerdem hat er mir ein Job Angebot gemacht, dass ich tatsächlich, auch wenn ich es nicht unbedingt brauche angenommen habe. Morgen um 6:00 Uhr fange ich an als Lackiergehilfe. Das mache ich so lange ich Zeit und Lust habe oder solange mein Chef Arbeit für mich hat, danach geht es weiter. Da ein Gewitter unmittelbar bevorstand, kann es gut sein, dass ich heute nicht besonders lang angeln kann. Dennoch werde ich es versuchen und den Gewitterwarnungen zu trotz erst mal hier sitzen bleiben, dennoch denke ich, dass es mal wieder eine nasse Nacht wird. Trotzdem werde ich versuchen früh zu schlafen, da ich morgen um 5 rausmuss.

Today is the day of days. I have my appointment at the workshop. First I drank coffee and ate my banana bread while I phoned Germany. When I arrived at the garage, I was told that the repair would cost at least 700 dollars, but it could be more depending on what was really broken. For this reason, and because the garage in the small village wouldn't have time for me until Friday, I parked my car and drove down to Newcastle. There's a garage there for me tomorrow and it seems to be cheaper. I went shopping and replenished my supplies there, including gas and water. Then I looked for a nice spot by the river as I wanted to go fishing today. I met an older man in a parking lot with whom I had a chat about my car. He said that there could be a major problem with my engine, which of course worried me. He also made me a job offer that I actually accepted, even though I don't really need it. I start tomorrow at 6:00 a.m. as a painting assistant. I'll do that for as long as I have time and desire or as long as my boss has work for me, then I'll continue. As a thunderstorm was imminent, I might not be able to fish for can fish for a long time. Nevertheless, I'm going to give it a go and stay here for the time being despite the thunderstorm warnings, but I think it's going to be another wet night.
