    Chattanooga

    23 мая 2019 г., Соединенные Штаты ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

Our first stop was Chattanooga to visit family and join the Rao's Landcruiser Rally. It was nice to spend time with my sister Pat and to be with her whole family Thursday night. We had lots of fun and laughs sightseeing with our RV friends (Rao's, Basile's, and Orchard's). We even got Dick to ride the Incline to the top of Lookout Mountain!Читать далее

    28 мая 2019 г., Соединенные Штаты ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

Nice morning in Amish country around Lancaster. After a filling Amish lunch, we went Hershey for the chocolate tour. We raced home to close up the coach and take Zoey with us to Petsmart to sit out a tornado warning for our area. We drove through golf ball hail and high winds to get there. All is well. We did see a couple of trees down on the way home. One was on top of a truck!Читать далее

Good food and a surprise of chocolate covered cherries on a bed of whipped cream complimentary dessert! Afterward we hiked the Gorge Trail in Watkins Glen State Park which has 19 waterfalls along the trail. Spectacular! Lake George, NY

    4 июня 2019 г., Соединенные Штаты ⋅ ⛅ 14 °C

We arrived in Lake George Sunday evening after driving once again in pouring rain. On Monday we drove among the mansions in Saratoga Springs and saw the historic race track. Then we drove along the western shore to the Sagamore Resort and walked the beautiful grounds along the lake. Today we took a boat ride to the north part of the lake. The lake nestled among the Adirondack mountains is absolutely beautiful. We were surprised, however, at how cold and drizzly it has been here in June.Читать далее

    Ministers Island

    11 июня 2019 г., Канада ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

We drove across the bottom of the ocean floor at low tide to reach Ministers Island, the estate of Sir William Van Horne. It is only accessible at low tide and a strange feeling to know that the path will be covered by 20 feet of water when the tide comes in. The island houses his 50 room estate and the country's largest wooden barn. The weather turned blustery and chilly while we were there so we ate our picnic lunch in the car! Tonight we had heavy rain.Читать далее

    Fredericton New Brunswick

    12 июня 2019 г., Канада ⋅ 🌫 17 °C

Today we traveled north to Fredericton, the capital of New Brunswick. On one turn on the highway we suddenly faced a railroad underpass of 4 meters (13 ft.)! We came to screeching halt since we are a little taller. Some nice Canadian trucker stopped and told us that it actually was a little higher than posted and that we would fit underneath. Whew!
After arriving we went on a walking tour of the historic city center.

We enjoyed relaxing this morning in our campground , Hartt Island Resort on the St. John River. It is a lovely site and we were surprised to discover that it contains a large palm tree lined pool and water park! Even though the palms are fake, it made us feel like home.
We returned to town to visit Christ Church a beautiful cathedral built in 1845. Afterward we went across the river to eat lunch at Wolastoq Wharf , a seafood restaurant owned by native Americans. Delicious.

We got early today to drive to Halifax. As soon as we tried to leave our site, we discovered that we were mired in mud and unable to move. After two hours of dumping gravel and wedging boards under the wheels, we realized that we needed help. We had to call a local tow truck to get us out! We were again delayed for a half hour for the swing bridge opening at the Canso Causeway while leaving the island. We finally arrived in Halifax late in the day and were exhausted.
