Delhi - Solo sightseeing 1

Quest’oggi ho fatto 30000 passi esplorando la città di Delhi.
La città è IMMENSA, quindi oltre che a camminare ho sempre preso la metro per spostarmi e una qualche volta i tuctuc (nei posti che la metro non era disponibile).

Oggi è stata una giornata tosta, sono uscita dal hotel alle 8 e sono tornata alle 23. L’hotel tra l’altro è una meraviglia - si tratta dell hotel Tatvamasi, gestito da un signore che è incredibile, gentilissimo e super disponibile. L’hotel è il top del top, anche più pulito che casa mia 😂

Vabbe torniamo a cosa ho fatto. Ho iniziato con la visita del l tempio del Loto, che è un tempio dove si possono professare tutte le religioi sotto lo stesso tetto. È una struttura bellissima, con dei giardini incredibili.

Dopodichè mi sono spostata ai giardini di Lodi, una bellezza assurda. Si tratta di un parco tenuto benissimo, dove si possono trovare dei vecchi palazzi.
Lì vicino è anche possibile visitare la tomba di Safdarjung, anche una bella struttura, dove non c’era praticamente nessuno.

Connaught place è stata la prossima tappa, assieme ai vari mercatini come quello di Shankar (vendono molte stoffe) o di Janpath (mercato piu turistico).

Da li mi sono spostata alla mia ultima tappa della giornata, ovvero il tempio Akshardam. Si tratta di un tempio recente, del 2005, ma è BELLISSIMO! Per entrare bisogna lasciare tutte le cose elettroniche e le borse all’entrata e dopo i vari controlli di sicurezza si può entrare. Il tempio di marmo è intagliato in maniera spettacolare e la cappella è adornata di pietre preziose, brillanti ed oro.
Al imbrunire viene poi fatto uno spettacolo di luci e fontane, che è fatto veramente bene e vale la pena vedere.

Dopo la lunga giornata sono tornata al Carnac Cafe vicino al mio hotel a mangiare delle bontà tipiche del sud dell’India (Idli e Paddu).

Today I took 30,000 steps exploring the city of Delhi.
The city is BIG, so in addition to walking I always took the metro to get around and sometimes the tuctuc (in places where the metro wasn't available).

Today was a tough day, I left the hotel at 8am and returned at 11pm. The hotel is fantastic - it's the Tatvamasi hotel, run by a gentleman who is incredible, very kind and super helpful. The hotel is top of the top, even cleaner than my house 😂

Okay let's get back to what I did. I started with a visit to the Lotus Temple, which is a temple where all religions can be professed under one roof. It's a beautiful property, with incredible gardens.

Then I moved to the gardens of Lodi, an absurd beauty. It is a very well kept park, where you can find old buildings.
Nearby you can also visit Safdarjung's tomb, also a beautiful structure, where there was practically no one.

Connaught place was the next stop, together with the various markets such as Shankar (they sell a lot of fabrics) or Janpath (more touristy market).

From there I moved to my last stop of the day, which was the Akshardam temple. It is a recent temple, from 2005, but it is BEAUTIFUL! To enter you have to leave all electronic things and bags at the entrance and after the various security checks you can enter. The marble temple is spectacularly carved and the chapel is adorned with precious stones, diamonds and gold.
At dusk there is then a light and fountain show, which is done really well and is worth seeing.

After the long day I returned to the Carnac Cafe near my hotel to eat some typical South Indian delicacies (Idli and Paddu).Read more
