Day 20: Trollhättan

My idea was only to paddle to Trollhättan today, to cover myself up at the campsite and to see the surroundings of the town.
But it turned out differently: This morning, dense fog covered river and land again, so that I only got rid of 9.45, because I couldn't see the opposite bank, and at least the tent should get a little dry. So after breakfast I stayed a little restless in the tent and read. When I started, everything was wonderfully quiet. The current was also much less strong than yesterday and the river level was also about 20 cm lower. So it was the right decision yesterday not to paddle any further ... (later there were more reasons) Again it was not clear where/ how I could pass the lock with kayak, but I found a good way. I put the boat in again after the lock and paddled behind the wooden freighter that just came out of the lock ... (by the way, very impressive this huge

The campsite was not really suitable for me, because there are no posibility to land on with the boat there and not attraktiv to me... ?So I decided to paddle towards Vänersborg ... it was still early afternoon and not far to Vänersborg and I had the information about the change at the Restad lock!
But I didn't get that far, somehow I sat in the wet and looked in a suitable place to find out that the boat licked. Crap! So everything out, boat out of the water, drying, patching and spend the night, because the glue takes time ... nearby is a golf course, but I couldn't find a responsible person, but basically I don't bother any.Read more
