    Day 24: Lidköping

    September 20, 2024 in Sweden ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

Another quite night at the lake... The morning starts sgain with heavy fog drifting over the lake and the shore. This time, my sleeping place was not damp, as I had put my tent in the shelter, because of warmth and insects... As I had left my trangiq out yesterday, I was able to eat my müsli warm, nice!
So again, I spent the first part of my paddling time in the fog. Sometimes more, sometimes less, but always feeling my way forward, as I could not see more than 100m. The path was pretty clear, though, I just had to stick to the right bank or paddle towards the vaguely visible headlands as soon as they appeared. It's just a shame that I can see so little of this beautiful landscape. Around midday, the sun finally came out and I noticed how much I had missed its warmth. I decided to spend my lunch break in a sunny spot instead of heading straight for the campsite, which was 1.5 hours away. I spread out the solar panel, washed my already wet clothes in the lake water and hung them up to dry... I also treated myself to a bath in the surprisingly warm lake water. I had skipped bathing for the last few days because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to warm up properly afterwards (I'm getting old!)...
After a break of almost two hours, I drove to the campsite, checked in and set up camp. Finally, I jumped in the shower and walked into town.
