Day 35 - Sun, Sea, Sand & Cheap Beer

This will be short & sweet.

By 9.30am we were up & laying our towels out on the sun beds in the prime spot facing out to sea with guaranteed sunshine all day.

Apart from the odd stroll up & down the beach & the occasional dip in the sea we did nothing other than sit on our sun beds & watched the beach comings & goings.

Lunch was scheduled for 1pm, but hunger got the better of us & we arrived at Dubble Duke 10 minutes early. We chose this restaurant, because it advertised an all day happy hour & true to their word I was pleased to discover a large Chang was just 90 Baht (Further down the beach it was 80 Baht for a small beer). Jackie had a happy hour Pad Thai & I had a spaghetti carbonara. It was a decent cheap lunch.

We returned to our sun beds after lunch & repeated the activities of the morning. We stayed out until sunset finishing with a beer in Dubble Duke, then a couple of beers in Crystal restaurant bar. We accidentally only got charged for one beer each in Crystal, which was a result!

That evening we went to Salad Villa Restaurant where they had tables set up on the beach & a BBQ on the go. Jackie picked her whole red snapper which was put on the barbie & I ordered chicken with Thai chilli paste. Jackie’s dinner when it arrived was enormous. Her fish had been butterflied open & it covered the entire plate. She still managed to eat pretty much all of it & despite my fears, it was actually very reasonably priced.
