Left about 7. Drive thru Teslin and bought gas. Drove by Teslin lake. Beautiful long lake. Great big snow covered mountains in the distance. Ate cinnamon rolls in Johnson Crossing store.
Drive to Carcross. It’s off the main highway. A cool funky little town on a lake. We walked around it.
Got to Whitehorse around 2. Walk to the visitor center. I went to the McBride museum. Nice display of the gold mining period. Then we went to Woodcutters micro brewery. Tiny place. Met the gal running it and her friend. They invited us to a house music party they were playing at. We went to another micro brewery called Polarity that is connector an oyster bar. We went to Boston pizza to watch the end of the kings game. Everyone watched hockey here but we got the to change one tv
We went to the house party. There were about 40 people there all in there 20s and 30s. 2 solo acts and our gals played a trio. There was also a puppet show that was written by grade schoolers. The music was ok but it all fun. Fayne and Kate were the entertainers and Chris, of Pickled Beets, was the mc.

Left around 8. Stopped at the Kluane River turn out for breakfast. This is a long lake. Still tons of mountains.
Drive over Donjek River and White River, two pretty rivers. Snow on the ground everywhere. You can see the Wrangell mountains that are big and covered in snow. Drove to Tok and tried to watch the last game of the kings and warriors but it was over by that time. Drove about 30 miles south of Tok and found a gravel pit to spend the night. Great views of the surrounding mountains. Had a fire and ate spaghetti. The whole evening we could hear either gun shots or some type of explosive going off not to far from us. We are guessing it is some kind of device that is designed to go off to scare any animals away.Read more
