On the plane home!

I'm heading home. It's official, I get to see the love of my life in less than 3 hours! Well a bit more if baggage is an issue! And my phone is charging, so it's not a problem!

I'm sitting in 5c, in a Boeing 737-700. Feeling pretty comfortable! There's some really nice French Canadian ladies next to me! I wish I wasn't shy at the moment or I'd talk with them!

This week has been such an amazing time with friends. New Friends and old friends alike. Friends from age 6 to age 89!

There are so many amazing moments and I'll try to fill this book with all of them!!Læs mere

At the Airport

So, I'm here at the airport, as my phone was acting wonky, I had asked for a hard copy of my boarding pass. She had no issues giving it to me!

I had a minor issue at security which turned out to be no issue at all. Although I had to do the following:
1. Take off belt & hat
2. Put my phone & CPAP out
3. Take the main device out of CPAP bag.
4. Take off jacket & backpack
5. Place pillow and backpack in separate bins.

I'm glad I arrived early so my phone can charge. (It's charging as I speak)

I'm sure you're dying to know what happened at security! Well, nothing to be honest, they put my bag side to look through it a bit more clearly, and he said everything looked good!

For once I wasn't worried about being at the airport security. Maybe because this is such a small airport compared to YYZ.

So what am I doing with 2+ hours at the airport!? Charging my phone of course! I'm hoping to have enough charge so I can use the phone on the trip. AND I'll be filling in bits of the trip. It might take me longer than 2 hours to finish this project, but it's so worth it.

I'd wander the airport but my phone is at 17% and charging very slowly.Læs mere

It's been chilly, but refreshing. The fresh sea air is so nice and crisp. The trip over from Halifax by ferry reminded me of the halls we go through before and after boarding a plane.

There weren't very many people on the ferry and I chose to go on top to see the views. However on the way back I decided to stay inside as it was raining a bit and the winds were a bit too strong.Læs mere

All by myself and loving it

So Unison is over and I'm by myself. No more roommates, no more choir members to hang out with (that I was aware of) and I was actually very content and proud of myself. I barely do anything like this on my own, so it was refreshing and exhilarating!

I eventually did get sad and lonely, however I was not anxious. My generalized anxiety wasn't there at all. Never occurred to me that I could be anxious in Halifax!

At this point I knew downtown Halifax fairly well, so I knew my way around, and if I didn't, Google maps was my friend!

I tried the pool again but the room was full, so I decided to just walk around downtown exploring.

I went to the citadel, the harbour front and dipped my feet in the ocean. The Pixies looks like I'm just stepping into a pool. Off it was a pool, it is the world's largest pool ever! Haha!

But really, the water wasn't as cold as I thought it was going to be. And I totally wanted to dunk myself in, but the air was far too cold and windy, and it would be a long walk up to the hotel. So I decided to just keep my feet on the water until I couldn't tolerate it anymore. It was about 5 minutes give or take a few.Læs mere

I just checked out of the hotel, and the guy at the front desk was so lovely! He told me about the bluenose 2 for breakfast, and Mary's African cafe for lunch! So I might actually do that

Harvest of plenty

There is this lovely cafe right around the corner of the convention centre and the food was so delicious!

I had this amazing smoothie of beets, banana, pineapple apple juice and more! It was so good I came back for seconds a few days later.
(when typing this out my phone wanted to change beets to breasts! LoL 😂)

This was the place that most of us ate at as it was so close to the convention centre! This place also had a table with swings for seats! And of course I just HAD to sit on them!Læs mere

Citadel & impromptu hangouts

Sooooo I'm wandering around Halifax like a lost puppy singing "all by myself" by Celine Dion. I'm belting it out for all of halifax to hear!

And lol and behold! I hear that two of my choristers are still in Halifax and want to hang out! Yay!

So I quickly finish what I'm looking at the Citadel and ready to meet up with my friends at the cafe Harvest.

AKA THE MARITIME MUSEUM OF THE ATLANTIC

once again the first stop we do is the bathroom as Nova needs to use it again. I'm currently going to see the Titanic exhibit, as that story fascinates me quite a bit.

We did half to stop partway through as Nova was having a hard time dealing with the fact the hand dryer in the bathroom wasn't working. (As an autistic I understand this, and it was also very tiring to help her calm down.) The museum staff were very happy to help us.Læs mere

Lunch time at the waterfront

Amanda, Nova and I ventured off to the waterfront for some yummy food. I had this delicious Thai meal, that had a spicy peanut sauce. Gosh it was so good!!
