All aboard

Time for dinner and drinks before we board the train back to Hanoi.

We had a slightly better experience this time with the boarding but our expections were low from the sub standard amenities in Lao Cai and the hotel we stayed in for a few hours.

All settled on the train reading and waiting for the many interruptions before leaving the station, believe me there are a few. Cold beer or coke or tea (you are given a warm beer and warm coke but you pay for a cold one). About 10 min later snack cart, they just open the door and come in no knocking. We then waited for the ticket collector but they never showed up. We started to watch Netflix but the train and the air on are too noisy, third world issue right!

Now being 11pm it is sleep time, well not really, the air con was so noisy and freezing cold I had to find a jumper in the luggage just to try and get warm so I could try to sleep. Not a good night's sleep, although John had no troubles.もっと詳しく
